ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Careerlink is inviting local teens and young adults to a Youth Opportunity Fair designed to connect them with employers, training programs, and community resources. The event will be held on April 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Nehemiah Project in Altoona.

Open to youth ages 14 to 24 and their families, the fair will provide a chance to explore different career paths, develop job-readiness skills, and discover programs that support education and employment goals.

To keep things welcoming and productive, organizers have planned a straightforward, engaging setup featuring employer booths, resource tables, and interactive skill-building activities.

Highlights of the event include:

• Employer Tables: Local businesses offering part-time, full-time, seasonal, and internship positions.

• Resource Providers: Community organizations sharing information on mentoring, housing, financial literacy, youth services, and training opportunities.

• Post-Secondary Education Options: Representatives from community colleges, trade schools, and technical training programs.

• Interactive Career Readiness Area: Stations where participants can build résumés, practice interview techniques, get job-hunting advice, and set personal career goals.

By participating, employers, educators, and community partners are helping prepare young people for paid work experiences and future training opportunities—supporting a stronger, career-ready generation in Blair County.
