In other local basketball news, the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame will honor several individuals and teams during its 2026 induction ceremony on April 11 at the Blair County Convention Center.
Among the inductees are Kristi (Little) Kaack, Lori (McConnell) Elgin, and Cathy (Cronin) Beam for their contributions to girls' and women's basketball.
The event will also recognize the Altoona Area High School girls' basketball teams that secured state championships in 1995 and 1996.
For high school students not participating in scholastic basketball programs, the Blair Regional YMCA in Hollidaysburg offers the Nut League, a basketball program designed for 10th to 12th graders.
The league emphasizes teamwork, self-esteem, and healthy habits, providing a platform for young athletes to develop both on and off the court.
As the basketball season progresses, Blair County continues to celebrate and support its rich tradition of high school basketball through these events and programs. |
