Bridge Rehabilitation Work Begins in Blair County – Lane Restrictions Start May 4

Drivers should prepare for minor delays of 3 to 5 minutes along Convention Center Boulevard in Allegheny Township

Drivers in Blair County can expect short delays starting Sunday, May 4, as a bridge rehabilitation project gets underway along Convention Center Boulevard.

Construction crews will begin work on the bridge carrying Convention Center Boulevard over Brush Run in Allegheny Township. The project will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction for the duration of the work. PennDOT is warning motorists to anticipate delays of approximately three to five minutes.

The $134,126.72 contract was awarded to RAM Construction Services of Michigan Inc. Work includes bridge deck repairs, an epoxy overlay treatment, and new pavement markings. The rehabilitation project is scheduled to be completed by July.

PennDOT is urging all drivers to slow down, stay alert, and watch for signage and flaggers when approaching the work zone.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead by checking real-time road conditions before traveling. Conditions on more than 40,000 miles of roadway can be monitored 24/7 by visiting www.511PA.com, downloading the free 511PA app for Android or iPhone, or by calling 5-1-1. The service provides traffic delays, speed information, weather updates, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras across the state.
