The Altoona Curve finally broke their season-opening 12-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Mitch Jebb played a pivotal role, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three stolen bases. His go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning put the Curve ahead for good.
The Sea Dogs managed five hits, including a home run by Franklin Arias, who has now homered in each of his last three games. Ronald Rosario contributed by going 2-for-4 and tying the game at 3-3 in the top of the sixth with an RBI single.
In relief, Jay Allmer took the loss for Portland, surrendering three runs on three hits and three walks over 1 2/3 innings. Starter Dalton Rogers allowed two runs in 4 1/3 innings, giving up only two hits but issuing five walks.
