Lisa Surkovich, an assistant teaching professor of literary education, received the 2026 honor for Education.
Her recognition comes after a remarkable 38-year career as a public school teacher and reading specialist, with over three decades spent at the Hollidaysburg Area School District.
She shared that her mission is to inspire her students to become the kindest and best teachers they can be.
