PennDOT District 9 is opening its Hollidaysburg office to jobseekers Tuesday, Oct. 6, with a hiring event designed to move applicants from questions to possible interviews in one visit.

The event runs from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the District 9 Office, 1620 Juniata Street, giving Blair County residents an after-work opportunity to explore transportation careers.

Recruitment staff, hiring managers and PennDOT employees will be available to discuss current and future openings across Blair, Bedford, Cambria, Somerset, Huntingdon and Fulton counties.

The most immediate staffing need is for seasonal winter CDL equipment operators, a role that becomes especially important as snow and ice season approaches across central Pennsylvania.

Applicants can receive help completing applications, and some job titles may include immediate interviews and potential conditional offers for qualified candidates during the event.

Anyone planning to attend should bring two forms of identification, which can help keep the application and interview process moving if an opportunity is a good fit.

For local residents considering a career change, seasonal work or a path into public service, the event offers direct access to the people making hiring decisions instead of relying only on an online application.

Blair County jobseekers who have commercial driving experience may find the timing particularly useful as PennDOT prepares its winter workforce for the months ahead.
