A Day of Family Fun Awaits at the Marina on February 14 |
Prince Gallitzin State Park is set to host its annual Winter Fest on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the marina.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of winter activities suitable for all ages and skill levels.
Highlights include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, and sled riding.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own sleds and ice skates, as the park's supply is limited.
For those interested in fishing, the event will feature ice fishing demonstrations, weather permitting.
In the absence of suitable ice conditions, open water fishing will be available on Glendale Lake.
Fishing gear will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
The day's events will kick off with a 5K fun run/walk at 10 a.m., starting from the marina pavilion.
No pre-registration is required for this non-timed event, making it accessible for everyone.
Additional activities include disc golf, geocaching, and educational exhibits on local wildlife and outdoor recreation.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission will have a booth set up during the event, providing information on hunting, trapping, and furs.
Attendees can also enjoy a bonfire, with opportunities to make mountain pies.
Hot dogs and hot chocolate will be available, provided by the Friends of Prince Gallitzin nonprofit group.
While the event is free, donations are welcome to support future park improvement projects.
Winter Fest has been an annual tradition at Prince Gallitzin State Park since 2017, offering the community a chance to embrace the winter season with a day full of outdoor fun.
