WISE Women of Blair County Announces 2026 Scholarship Opportunities

Empowering Local Women Through Education and Overcoming Adversity

WISE Women of Blair County is now accepting applications for its 2026 scholarship program, offering financial assistance to local women pursuing higher education.

One or more scholarships, totaling up to $10,000, will be awarded. The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026. Completed applications must be submitted via U.S. Postal mail to P.O. Box 134, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, or emailed to info@wisewomenofblaircounty.org.

Eligible applicants are female residents of Blair County, aged 21 or older, who have faced and overcome adversity or discrimination and are seeking post-secondary education. Please note, the scholarship is not available for those pursuing a master's, doctorate, or a second bachelor's degree.

Scholarships are awarded through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation. The Donna D. Gority Scholarship specifically supports women whose challenges or career goals align with areas such as domestic abuse, sexual assault, substance use disorder, mental health issues, child abuse, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, juvenile or criminal justice, teen pregnancy, physical or intellectual disabilities, and racial or LGBTQIA+ discrimination.

All applicants will be considered for both the WISE Women and Gority scholarships. The application includes two essay questions: one detailing career goals and plans to achieve them, and another describing personal adversity and its impact. Applicants must also provide educational background information and any additional details they wish the committee to consider.

WISE Women of Blair County (Women Involved in Scholarship and Empowerment) is dedicated to empowering women and promoting acceptance and inclusion through collaboration, service, and education. The organization fulfills its mission by providing scholarships, awarding grants, and recognizing outstanding women in the community through the annual Tribute Dinner.
