Saturday, July 4th is Independence Day🧨

Trivia Questionâť“

What female singer holds the record for the most Grammy Awards won in a single night by a female artist?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

PennDOT is preparing for the anticipated crowds as the legendary Union Pacific “Big Boy” No. 4014 steam locomotive rolls through Central and Western Pennsylvania in July 2026.

Locals in Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Somerset counties should expect heavier traffic and possible detours, especially near popular train viewing spots.

PennDOT and local emergency agencies will use digital boards, cones, and targeted road restrictions, including temporary closures at key sites like the Horseshoe Curve and the I-99 interchange in Tyrone, to enhance safety and ease congestion.

Drivers are urged to use designated parking, avoid shoulder stops, and never attempt unsafe maneuvers near the train. All road users should stay alert and follow special event guidelines.

The celebrated Big Boy engine is set for a special appearance at the Railroaders Memorial Museum on July 8, drawing excitement and visitors from across the region.
